1. Treat staff-members with respect!
UOGamers: Demise staff are volunteers. Each takes time out of his or her daily schedule to assist players with questions and in-game problems. Abuse of any form will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, swearing, belittling, and harassment.
(Note: Imitation of staff will not be permitted nor will persuading players using threats/statements of knowing in game staff be tolerated)
2. Lost items will NOT be replaced.
Staff will not replace lost items regardless of the circumstance. While we truly empathize with any player who has had the unfortunate experience to lose valuables, we must retain a uniform policy across the board as there is no way to verify the honesty of the claim. If you believe you have been hacked and would like to speak with administration about the issue, please email them at staff@uodemise (dot) com.
3. Character modifications (ie gender, name, skills, race) will not be made upon request.
If you have made a mistake in the creation of your character, you will be required to wait the seven day time limit on character deletion. Once that time has expired, you are free to delete your character and re-create it with the correction. In the instance you have selected an inappropriate name for your character, the name will be changed to "Generic Player." If you have had your character named changed to "Generic Player," staff will not change the name upon request to something else. The only way to rid yourself of the "Generic Player" name is to either purchase a name change deed from the donation store or another player OR delete the character. Do not page in game if your name has been changed.
(Note: In the instance you have named your pet inappropriately, the pet will be deleted.)
4. Staff will not assist you with travel.
If there is a place you want to go, it is up to you to find a way to get there. If you are lost, in game staff will not move you to a known location. The exception to this rule is if you are physically stuck in game (an inability to move). If you find that you get lost often, try using UO AutoMap: http://www.uoam.net.
5. Players are limited to 3 accounts per household.
The limitation is by household, not IP address. If you already have three accounts and another family member or roommate decides they would like to play on Demise, you will have to give up one of your accounts so they can create another. It is up to you to inform admin when this happens.
6. Do not share accounts!
Players are not permitted to share accounts. Sharing accounts not only jeopardizes the security of your in-game items but will also result in consequence if your account is caught. This rule is enforced for the safety of our players.
7. Gathering resources unattended is NOT permitted.
Gathering resources while unattended is a bannable offense. Resources include, but are not limited to, ore, logs, ToTs, BODs, fish, reagents, food, and gold. Selling items to an NPC while unattended as well as turning in completed BODs falls while unattended is included in this rule.
If you are unable to respond to a staff member when the staff member questions you, you will be considered UNATTENDED and actioned.
- Dropping the gathered resources at your feet does not absolve you from the consequences.
- "Unattended" will not be differentiated between "SEMI ATTENDED", "SORT OF ATTENDED", "just running to the bathroom", or "just checking back every so often to make sure I'm not in jail". You either respond to the staff member or you do not.
8. Third Party Programs are NOT allowed.
Anything other than the UO Client, Razor, ConnectUO, UOAM, and OSI permitted softwares are not allowed.
9. Player Griefing
There is a fine line when it comes to player griefing and these will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Instances such as racial slurs or hate speech will not be tolerate and acted on immediately.
10. Account Purging
Along with the rule of only 3 accounts per household, accounts are purged after 90 days of inactivity (not logging into the account)
11. Account Item/Trades
Selling accounts or in game items for money, including eBay auctions, is not permitted. Trading items from another shard, including other UOGamer shards, is not permitted. Demise items should only be traded within the Demise environment.
12. Hacking
Attempting to hack/gain illegal access to the shard or another individual's account is not permitted and will be actioned against immediately. Modifying files in an effort to change how the client interfaces with the server is not permitted.
13. Use Common Sense
Just because a specific issue is not outlined in the rules does not mean that staff cannot take action against you for it.
