To play Demise, you will need two things: a fully patched UO client and a second program used to connect you to Demise rather than the default OSI servers. (For those who may not know, “client” is just a fancy sounding word that refers to your installation of the Ultima Online game. Clients come in several varieties or “versions”, depending on when you bought the game in stores or downloaded it off the Internet.

Updating (Patching) the Game Client
"Patching" refers to downloading any new content that has been added after the client’s release (such as additional graphics) and adding it to your installation of Ultima Online.
In most cases, starting the UO Client without razor will automatically initiate a successful patching process. If for some reason the patch fails, here are some quick things you can try to resolve the problem:
- 1. Browse to the directory in which you have UO installed (common under C:\Program FIles\EA Games) and delete the patch folder.
2. Open the login.cfg file with a text editor like Notepad. If the contents of that file do not look exactly like the following example, change the file so it does.

After these steps, try re-launching the Ultima Online client without Razor once to see if the problem has been resolved. After a successful patching session, you may then exit the Ultima Online client, and launch it with Razor.
Having a client that is not patched to the current version can cause map differences or show tiles as "unused." OSI/EA periodically releases updates to the client and it is important for you to keep your client up to date so you have no discrepancies with the Demise server.

Once installed, start Razor and select Demise from the server list drop down menu.
Connecting to Demise using ConnectUO
(ConnectUO can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.connectuo.com)
Once installed, find Demise in the public server list, or create your own entry. The server address is login.uodemise.com and the port is 2593.
Create an Account
Demise has what is called "automatic account creation" enabled. This means that in order to create an account, you simply log into it by picking an account name and password and trying to use it. If nobody else has already taken the account name, your account will be created and you will be taken to the character creation menu.
Be sure to remember the account name you choose, because you are only permitted to have 3 accounts per household so if you forget it you can be in trouble!
Do not use your OSI account information and for greater account security, do not make your username and password the same or the name of a character you plan to play.
PLEASE NOTE: If you recieve the message "Your account credentials are invalid. Check your user ID and password and try again," this means you have attempted to create an account using a login name that already exists. Simply think of a new login ID and try again.
Connecting to the server after entering login information will bring you to the server list which displays Demise. Click on Demise and click the forward arrow to continue once more to the Character Creation menu. Congratulations! You are ready to play UOGamers: Demise!
